Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Find answers to common questions about our A2 Gir Cow Ghee, ordering, delivery, and more.

About Our Ghee

What is A2 Gir Cow Ghee?

A2 Gir Cow Ghee is made from the milk of purebred Gir cows, which produce A2 beta-casein protein instead of A1. A2 protein is easier to digest and doesn't cause inflammation, making it suitable for people who are sensitive to regular dairy products. Our ghee is made using the traditional bilona method, ensuring maximum purity and nutrition.

What is the bilona method?

The bilona method is a traditional way of making ghee that involves manually churning curd (yogurt) using a wooden churner to separate butter, then slowly heating it to extract pure ghee. This method preserves all natural nutrients and produces ghee with superior taste, aroma, and health benefits compared to modern machine-made ghee.

Is your ghee organic?

Yes, our ghee is 100% organic. Our Gir cows are raised on organic feed, free from pesticides and chemicals. They are not treated with antibiotics or growth hormones. We follow organic farming practices throughout the entire process.

What makes your ghee different from regular ghee?

Our ghee is different because:

  • Made from pure A2 Gir cow milk (easier to digest)
  • Prepared using traditional bilona method (maximum nutrition)
  • 100% organic and chemical-free
  • No preservatives or additives
  • Rich in vitamins, omega-3, and butyric acid
  • Authentic taste and aroma
Is your ghee lactose-free?

Yes, our ghee is lactose-free. During the clarification process (making ghee from butter), all milk solids including lactose and casein are removed. What remains is pure butterfat, making it safe for people with lactose intolerance or milk protein allergies.

Health & Nutrition

What are the health benefits of A2 ghee?

A2 ghee offers numerous health benefits:

  • Improves digestion and gut health
  • Boosts immunity
  • Supports heart health
  • Enhances brain function
  • Promotes healthy skin
  • Strengthens bones
  • Helps with weight management (when consumed in moderation)
How much ghee should I consume daily?

For adults, 1-2 tablespoons (15-30ml) of ghee per day is recommended. This can be divided across meals—1 teaspoon in breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Children can consume 1-2 teaspoons per day. Always consult with a healthcare provider if you have specific health conditions.

Can people with diabetes consume ghee?

Ghee can be consumed in moderation by people with diabetes, but it's important to consult with your doctor or nutritionist first. Ghee has a low glycemic index and can be part of a balanced diabetic diet when consumed in small quantities (1-2 teaspoons per day).

Is ghee good for weight loss?

When consumed in moderation (1-2 tablespoons per day), ghee can support weight management. The medium-chain fatty acids in ghee are metabolized differently and can boost metabolism. However, ghee is calorie-dense, so it should be part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.

Storage & Usage

How should I store ghee?

Ghee should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. It doesn't require refrigeration and can stay fresh for 6-12 months if stored properly. Always use a clean, dry spoon to avoid contamination.

How long does ghee last?

Our ghee has a shelf life of 6-12 months when stored properly in an airtight container at room temperature. Since it's pure butterfat with no water content, it doesn't spoil easily. However, always check for any off smell or taste before using.

What is the best way to use ghee in cooking?

Ghee is versatile and can be used in many ways:

  • Sautéing and frying (high smoke point)
  • Making tadka (tempering) for dal and vegetables
  • Drizzling over rice, roti, or dal
  • Adding to warm milk or tea
  • Using in baking and sweets
  • As a spread on bread or roti
Can I use ghee for high-heat cooking?

Yes! Ghee has a high smoke point of 485°F (252°C), making it perfect for high-heat cooking like frying, deep-frying, and sautéing. It won't burn or produce harmful free radicals at high temperatures, unlike many vegetable oils.
